The Dark Lady of the Sonnets
StoryZ presents a theatre performance of George Bernard Shaw's The Dark Lady of the Sonnets. In this one-act play, William Shakespeare comes to the grounds of the palace for a secret meeting with his muse, the Dark Lady who inspired his sonnets—but before she arrives he encounters a sleepwalking Queen Elizabeth I and quickly angers her with his words.
The performance at the Legion-Keener Park Amphitheatre is free, but donations are appreciated.
Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets and maybe a picnic lunch to enjoy the show.
