Customer Service/Sales Representative

As a Customer Service / Sales Representative, you will serve as a key link between Raven Industries and our customers — providing exceptional service while actively driving business growth. This role combines inside sales and customer support: you’ll respond to incoming inquiries, manage existing accounts, and proactively seek out new customers through outbound calling and business development efforts.You will work closely with our sales, production, and logistics teams to ensure customers receive timely, accurate information and the high-quality service Raven Industries is known for. The ideal candidate is energetic, self-motivated, and eager to grow our customer base and expand sales within the assigned territory, all while maintaining strong, long-term relationships with existing clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to inbound customer inquiries via phone, email, or online portals in a timely and professional manner.
  • Process orders accurately, verify customer information, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Resolve customer issues or complaints, escalate when necessary, and follow through to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain and update customer records in our CRM or order management system.
  • Conduct outbound calls to prospective customers to generate new leads, build relationships, and expand our customer base.
  • Actively work to grow the assigned territory and develop new business opportunities through research, networking, and proactive outreach.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell products and work with the sales team to pursue these leads.
  • Provide product knowledge to customers and help customers select the right solutions for their equipment.
  • Monitor inventory availability or lead times and communicate proactively with customers about any delays or backorders.
  • Collaborate with other departments ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Meet or exceed established service and sales KPIs.

Qualifications Required:

  • Associate degree or bachelor’s preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in customer service or inside sales (manufacturing, distribution, or consumables industry preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and provide high-quality customer support.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sales mindset and willingness to cold call.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning CRM or ERP systems.

Preferred but not required:

  • Experience in the office-equipment supplies industry (toners, cartridges, consumables).
  • Familiarity with copier/printer models and related products.
  • Understanding of manufacturing, inventory, and distribution workflows.

Benefits & Work Environment

  • Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
