Cliff Ridilla started Cliff’s Carpet Outlet, Inc in 1971 to serve Westmoreland County and beyond. Cliff joined the Carpet One Co-Op in 1996 and became Cliff’s Carpet One.
In the early years of the business, Cliff got involved in many ways in the community. In 1979 Cliff got involved with the Highway Safety Council, they gave away over 20,000 bumper stickers that said, “Love your kids, buckle them up!” He also presented at 25 high school assemblies promoting seat belts and safe driving over a five-year period.
In 2005 Cliff joined the Patriot Guard. This is a group of veterans on motorcycles formed to escort soldiers killed in action and to block protestors from grieving families at military funerals.
Cliff sold the business to his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin & Kristy Ridilla in 2010. Kevin and Kristy have been running the flooring store since 2001. For over 50 years we have been offering our community high-quality floor covering installed by some of the best installation professionals in the region. Our installers are our own employees, not subcontractors. If you need help from an interior designer we have that too! Interior Designer, Marcia Tucci, is on staff a few days per week and available for on-site visits as well. We take your new flooring very seriously, it’s our only focus! We offer carpet, hardwood, ceramic and porcelain tile, luxury vinyl, area rugs and more!
In 2015 Cliff’s Carpet One donated a percentage of our sales and also matched customer donations for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. “Building for America’s Bravest.” was their slogan. The foundation donates specially adapted smart homes to disabled veterans to help them live more independent lives. t’s actually quite funny how the Patriot Guard and Tunnel to Towers all came together at Cliff’s. Cliff’s hosted an event where one of the New York Firefighters, Peter Daniti, (who was active during the World Trade Center Attack in 2001) came to deliver a piece of the towers to us as a thank you for donating to the Tunnel To Towers Foundation. Cliff and also some of the Patriot Guard Riders escorted Peter to the flooring store for the event. It was truly amazing!
In early 2016 Kevin and Kristy took the leap of faith they had been mulling over for years and decided to take Cliff’s Carpet One back to it’s roots by exiting the Carpet One Co-Op and becoming an independent retailer, now known as, Cliff’s Flooring Solutions.
In November of 2016 Cliff’s Flooring Solutions won the Synchrony “Working Forward” small business award. The award was given to not only help Cliff’s Flooring Solutions with their new branding but allowed Cliff’s to continue helping others in the community. A sizable donation was given to Angel Arms to renovate a building in Latrobe focused on helping families with babies born addicted to drugs. The opioid crisis has affected so many lives and Kristy felt determined to help in some way after spending 3 years as a volunteer baby Cuddler at Westmoreland Hospital. The opportunity presented itself and to this day Angel Arms is still providing care for babies born addicted to drugs.
In 2019 Cliff’s Flooring Solutions donated labor and materials for a house that was renovated by Habitat for Humanity. Kevin and Kristy are active supporters of local musicians in various ways, specifically the Brian T. Rusnock Amphitheater at Twin Lakes Park. Brian was a dear friend and fellow musician, his song truly does live on through every band that gets to perform at such a great venue! Cliff's has been a member of the Latrobe Chamber since 1981!
When all of us were quarantined due to Covid in 2020, we were grateful to the Chamber for emailing all of the latest information they had access to regarding the PPP loans, EIDL loans, etc. They did a great job of keeping everyone informed of all the resources to help small businesses navigate through the chaotic, uncharted territory.
Cliff’s Flooring Solutions celebrated 51 years in business on Friday 7/1/22. Congratulations Kevin and Kristy!
