Regional ESL Caseworker

We are seeking an experienced bilingual caseworker to serve English as a Second Language (ESL) individuals and families. As Regional Program Specialist, you will assist ESL community members obtain and maintain self-sufficiency using a case management approach and your proficiency in a second language. You will accomplish this by:

  • Meeting with customers individually, in families, or in small groups to determine a plan of action to overcome existing barriers,
  • Providing referrals and linkages to WCA programs and/or local/regional resources and coordinating community services,
  • Providing daily, weekly or biweekly follow-up, monitoring and evaluating household progress through home visits, phone contacts, office visits, and written correspondence, and
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records and preparing adequate and timely reports in appropriate program database per program regulations

This is accomplished through housing, counseling, support, education, intervention, collaborations, partnerships, information, referrals, and networking.

Qualifications

  • Must be proficient in one or more of the following languages: Spanish, French, Haitian Creole, Russian and/or Ukrainian.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a human service-related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to provide high quality casework to individuals and families with various ethnic backgrounds.
  • One year of prior casework experience.
  • Knowledge of county and regional programs to link individuals and families to community services.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, $15,000/$30,000 bodily liability car insurance, and a qualifying motor vehicle record history.
  • Must be able to obtain child abuse, state police, fingerprint-based criminal background check, and sex offender registry clearances.
  • Provide a certificate of or be able to complete Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse training.

Hourly rate based on experience: $23.15 – $25.33. This position is non-exempt.
