Fall Soil to Supper event Nov. 11 at Saint Vincent

LATROBE, PA – Soil to Supper returns to Saint Vincent College with a fall iteration inside the Fred M. Rogers Center on campus. With the theme “Grown by Neighbors, Shared by Neighbors,” the event celebrates the land, the people and the community that nourishes us.
 
The public dinner event scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 6 p.m., will feature a five-course meal prepared by an executive chef. Complimentary wine tasting is available with each course. Tickets cost $125 and can be purchased online here. Preregistration is required. Seating is limited and early registration is strongly encouraged. Vegetarian options are available.
 
This season’s Soil to Supper focuses on fall ingredients grown or produced by local farms that are brought to the table and shared among the neighbors, friends and community members who call this region home.
 
Farms and producers (subject to change due to availability) include Dawson’s Orchards, Highlands Honey Farm, Pine Valley Farms, Saint Vincent Gristmill, Turner Dairy Farms, Wexford Farms and Yarnick’s Farm.
 
There will also be an educational component to the meal as staff will provide information about the wines, the farms used, and the ingredients and how to use them in your home kitchen.
 
Rooted in the tradition of Benedictine hospitality, Saint Vincent has long believed that the table is a place of generosity, community and belonging. That spirit will be alive in every dish served during the Soil to Supper event.

The inaugural Soil to Supper was served in July.
