Letter Carrier’s STAMP OUT HUNGER Donations and Volunteers Needed!
Delmont, PA— The Westmoreland Food Bank, the National Association of Letter
Carriers (NALC), and the United States Postal Service (USPS) are once again joining
forces for the annual Stamp Out Hunger® food drive, one of the nation’s most extensive
single-day food collection campaigns, on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
Letter carriers throughout Westmoreland County will be collecting nonperishable foods,
including canned goods, cereal, pasta, rice, boxed juices, and shelf-stable milk (no
prepared food or food or juices in glass containers). Additionally, personal care items
such as toothpaste, soap, shampoo, deodorant, and disposable diapers are gratefully
accepted. All donations collected will help replenish the Westmoreland Food Bank's
network of community partners and other emergency feeding programs in
Westmoreland County.
Jennifer Miller, the CEO of the Westmoreland Food Bank, noted, “Every donation,
regardless of size, will help our neighbors in Westmoreland County who are struggling
to put food on their tables.” Ms. Miller added, “We’ve always been touched by the
generosity of those in our community who are willing to help their neighbors in need,
and we are confident that they will once again step up and support this year’s Stamp
Out Hunger food drive.”
Since its inception in 1993, the Stamp Out Hunger food drive, held on the second
Saturday in May, has collected approximately 1.9 billion pounds of food for those in
need across the United States.

cover shifts at the following post offices and communities: Greensburg, Irwin, New
Kensington, and Latrobe. Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age or older.
